CONTRACT / AGREEMENT
Please Read Carefully
We believe that God gave man dominion over the animals and as such we are responsible for their care. If for any reason you cannot keep an Amsel-Haus dog; we will take it back.
Satisfaction Guarantee: Seller certifies that this puppy is a purebred German Shepherd of sound body, good health, and free of communicable diseases as far as appears to the eye. The said puppy has been checked by a veterinarian at eight weeks of age and was found to be healthy. The puppy has received a Parvo vaccination and has been dewormed three times. The puppy has been tattooed with a code and personal number which is registered with the National Dog Registry. Buyer is encouraged to have the puppy examined by their own veterinarian. A full refund of the purchase price within 72 hours will be made if this puppy has any defects. The Buyer assumes full responsibility for all costs and care and shipping fees during this time.
Health Guarantee: We guarantee our dogs to be free of any genetic problems as follows: If a dog is diagnosed by a veterinarian to have any genetic disorder which impairs the quality of its life by the age of two years, Buyer has the option of a replacement. Hip guarantee will become void if problems arise due to owner's neglect, injury or obesity in the dog while in buyer's possession. No monetary reimbursement will be given.
Replacement: Buyer is not obligated to return the dog for a replacement. The Buyer is entitled to a replacement from the next available litter. If the Buyer decides to return the dog to the Seller, The Buyer agrees to furnish the Seller with all AKC paperwork at the time of surrender.
Replacement Requirements: Before any replacement will be made, a copy of the original diagnosis from a certified veterinarian must be submitted to the Seller. Hip dysplasia must be verified by a copy of the original OFA report. The Seller has the option of bringing the dog to a veterinarian of her choice for second opinion.
Food and Supplements: Buyer agrees to provide the dog with adequate nutrition, defined as a high quality dog food. Seller recommends Bil-Jac Dog Food. Buyer agrees to maintain proper weight for optimal health. Seller recommends the use of "NuVet Plus" supplement for the dog's first two years. Information on supplement is in the "Favorite Links". This supplement aides in the development of joints as well as cartilage necessary for erect ears.
Ears: To maintain erect ears, it is necessary to refrain from patting on top of the head pushing the ears downward. If the dog's ears are not up by the 6 months of age, Seller will provide professional taping.
Maintenance: Buyer agrees to not tie out or chain this dog. Buyer agrees that this dog is a house dog, defined as living inside the house as a member of the family. If this dog cannot be kept for any reason, the Buyer agrees to contact the Seller. If Seller elects to take the dog back, Buyer agrees to supply and transfer all corresponding registration papers and to supply a current health certificate at the time of delivery. Should the dog be sold elsewhere or ownership transferred from original buyer, this contract would become void (this contract is non-transferable). The Buyer agrees to maintain the said dog with annual vaccinations and regular veterinary care as outlined by your veterinarian. Buyer agrees not to mistreat this dog in any shape or form.
Obedience: Because German Shepherds require strong leadership, Buyer agrees to enroll and complete at least one obedience training course within one year from the date of purchase. Buyer understands that if the dog achieves a "Canine Good Citizen" title before the dog's second birthday, the Buyer will receive a $50 congratulations rebate. A copy of original certificate must be submitted within six months of qualification.
This dog is purchased for the purpose of being a pet and may not be bred (intentionally or unintentionally). Buyer agrees to spay female between 7-9 months of age and to neuter male between 14-18 months of age.
Purchase price includes AKC registration of the dog. Massachusetts sales tax (5%) is applicable to Massachusetts residents.
Violation of this contract will constitute the Buyer's unconditional surrender of the purchased dog and all registration documents at no cost to Seller.
